The Garmin Venu 2 Series, For the Active Human Tracking More than Just Movement

I would classify myself as a studio-hopper with a high-energy dog. So, for me, that means I log a maximum workout time of 45 to 60 minutes and I take a lot of walks. 

Until recently, I didn’t think Garmin was for me. The brand is often associated with an endurance running lifestyle – and the Garmin Forerunner series is great for that – but it turns out there is something for everyone, including people like me.

I switched to the Garmin Venu 2 Series in October and my life has been better for it. This smart watch is packed with features that I love, but I’ll start with the simplest one that makes the biggest difference: the battery lasts up to 11 days. And because the battery lasts so long, I wear it to bed, giving me access to incredible data I didn’t have before, like sleep, stress, respiration and my favorite metric – Body Battery. 

I’ve never had access to sleep tracking before because my old watch took too long to juice-up and definitely required a daily charge. Now, I’m able to see how I slept, and compare it to how I’m feeling each day. For example, last night I had a bad dream during one of my REM cycles (I remember the dream – there were literally dragons, swords, and puppies) and my respiration shows that my breathing spiked right before I woke up from the dream – aka, I was really scared. Regardless, my sleep quality was great – I can confirm that by saying I feel well-rested.

That allows me to jump into the day with a Body Battery fully recharged, giving me the signal that it’s a great day to hit the gym for a tough workout. The Body Battery, by the way, shows the effects of physical activity, stress, relaxation and the restorative power of sleep together in a single place, as well as how things like what you’re eating, drinking and supplementing with impact your readiness. That way, you can learn what works best for you to get the rest and recovery you need.
